Lake District, NE EDMONTON


Northeast Edmonton's Lake District neighbourhood was founded in 1979. Its boundaries are 97 Street to the west, 153 Avenue to the south, 66 Street to the east, and Anthony Henday Drive to the north. There are nine residential neighbourhoods in the Lake District.

MAYLIEWAN

If you’re looking for a neighbourhood designed with families in mind, Mayliewan is the home for you! Part of northeast Edmonton’s Lake District region, Mayliewan (often referred to as Cherry Grove) features two lakes, a large central park beside St. John Bosco Elementary School, and various walkways designed to encourage walking and cycling within the neighbourhood. Mayliewan was intentionally designed to be a safe community for its residents, including children, to easily and safely access and enjoy the neighbourhood’s open outdoor spaces.


Development in Mayliewan began in the 1980s but the majority of residential development took place in the 1990s and 2000s, 97% of which consists of single-family homes.

OZERNA

There’s a home for everyone in Ozerna! Located within Edmonton’s northeast Lake District region, Ozerna features plenty of outdoor space within walking distance of your home, including the centrally located Ozerna Park, other linear parks, a lake, and pedestrian and cycling pathways connecting residents to these community spaces.


Ozerna’s homes are 80% single-family properties, while the remainder are a combination of row houses, semi-detached homes, and low-rise apartments. Construction of homes in Ozerna began in the 1980s and continued into the 2000s.


As a residential neighbourhood, Ozerna has limited amenities within its borders, but is a short drive away from shopping centres like Londonderry Mall and Manning Town Centre.

SCHONSEE
